Superconductivity with Topological Non-trivial Surface States in NbC

Quantum materials with non-trivial band topology and bulk superconductivity are considered superior to realize topological superconductivity. In this regard, we report detailed density functional theory (DFT) calculations Z2 invariants for the NbC superconductor, exhibiting its structure be topologically non-trivial. Bulk at 8.9 K is confirmed through DC magnetization measurements under field cooled (FC) zero (ZFC) protocols. This found of type II nature as revealed by isothermal M-H measurements, thus Ginzburg–Landau parameter calculated. A large intermediate state evident from phase diagram, showing a strong type-II superconductor. Compared earlier reports on superconducting NbC, non-monotonic relationship critical temperature lattice parameters seen. conclusion, around 10 superconductor surface states.
